Today was the first day of spring - or "le printemps" as the French say.
What does that mean here in Paris? The flowers are blooming, the sun is shining, and the Parisians are out in full force. They come out of hibernation in droves, taking over every square inch of grass in the Jardin du Luxembourg, squeezing onto terraces and sidewalk cafés, and dangling their feet over the Seine for impromptu picnics along the river banks.
You've heard all the clichés, but once you've experienced it yourself, you understand. There's just something special about springtime in Paris.
